Bar Results Delay Linked to Exam Fraud — Law School DG

Abuja, Nigeria; The Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Professor Isa Chiroma (SAN), has attributed the delay in the release of Bar examination results to incidents of examination malpractice, dismissing claims of intentional withholding.

Speaking during a session with the House of Representatives Committee on Justice, Professor Chiroma underscored the institution’s firm stance on curbing malpractice and maintaining the integrity of its examination process. He presented photographic evidence of infractions to support his claims and reiterated that results are only published following the formal approval of the Council of Legal Education.

Professor Chiroma also emphasized that only candidates who meet the statutory requirements are eligible for the Call to Bar.

In response, Committee Chairman Hon. Olumide Osoba commended the Law School’s adoption of CCTV surveillance as a deterrent against malpractice. He pledged the Committee’s support for improved infrastructure through future budgetary allocations and announced plans for oversight visits to all Law School campuses nationwide to assess existing facilities firsthand.
