Lagos – Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has commended Lagos-based NYSC member Ushie Uguamaye for her courage in speaking out against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Uguamaye, known on TikTok as @talktoraye, recently shared a viral video criticizing the government over the economic hardship Nigerians face. Following this, she alleged that NYSC officials threatened her and summoned her to report to the Eti-Osa Local Government office. She also claimed to have received anonymous threats, raising concerns for her safety.
Reacting on X (formerly Twitter), Atiku described Uguamaye as a fearless advocate for justice, likening her to historic female activists like Funmilayo Ransom-Kuti, Gambo Sawaba, and Margaret Ekpo. He emphasized that she represents the new generation of women championing political participation and speaking truth to power.
“She is a shining emblem of the Nigerian youth—a testament to the long-held promise that the leaders of tomorrow are already among us, ready to shape a better future,” Atiku stated.
He urged that rather than being silenced, Uguamaye should be supported for her bravery in addressing national issues.
