At least 25 people killed in Enugu in multiple crashes at Nigerian Army checkpoint (Video)

At least 25 people have reportedly died in multiple car crashes at Ugwu Onyeama along the Enugu-Onitsha federal highway in Enugu State.

 

The accident which involved 10 vehicles, including private and commercial vehicles, occurred at a Nigerian Army checkpoint.

 

According to an eyewitness, many vehicles were stopped at the checkpoint when a truck failed brake and crashed into the vehicles parked on the hilly road.

 

Many were killed on the spot while even more were seriously injured are have been taken to hospitals.

 

A video of the incident shows bodies of victims scattered on the road.

 

Some vehicles, including a petrol tanker truck, were seen plunged into a nearby ditch. Cars were also seen mangled beyond repair.
