Astronomer CEO Steps Down Following Viral Coldplay Concert Incident

New York, USAAndy Byron, CEO of tech company Astronomer, has resigned after footage capturing him in an intimate embrace with a female colleague at a Coldplay concert sparked widespread attention online.

The company’s board announced Byron’s departure in an official statement, confirming that the chief product officer will serve as interim CEO as they initiate a search for permanent leadership.

“Astronomer remains steadfast in the values that define our culture,” the statement read on Saturday. “Our leaders are responsible for upholding the highest standards of conduct and accountability. Regrettably, those standards were not met in this instance.”

The viral video, filmed during a Coldplay show in Foxborough, Massachusetts, shows Byron and the colleague swaying and hugging as the band performed. When the pair appeared on the venue’s big screen, they attempted to cover their faces, prompting Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to joke, “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy,” eliciting laughter from the audience.

US news sources have identified the individuals depicted as Byron—a married executive—and Kristin Cabot, Astronomer’s chief people officer.

Following the incident, Byron was placed on leave and an internal investigation was launched after the video rapidly circulated and drew public scrutiny.
