Arsenal Star, Nwaneri, Still Eligible to Represent Eagles

London, EnglandArsenal’s rising star, Ethan Nwaneri, remains eligible to play for the Super Eagles, despite being omitted from England’s latest squad.

The talented midfielder was among the notable exclusions from the first squad selected by newly appointed England manager, Thomas Tuchel.

Meanwhile, two of his Arsenal teammates, Declan Rice and Myles Lewis-Skelly, secured spots in the 26-man squad. Lewis-Skelly’s inclusion is particularly significant, as he and Nwaneri developed together at Arsenal’s Hale End Academy, progressing through the club’s youth ranks.

Both players have enjoyed impressive seasons under Mikel Arteta, with Nwaneri netting eight goals for the Gunners across all competitions.

His absence from Tuchel’s selection could open the door for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to approach him for a potential nationality switch. Should Nwaneri choose to represent Nigeria, he would follow in the footsteps of Alex Iwobi, who opted for the Super Eagles over England while at Arsenal in 2015.

With the NFF continuously scouting young talents of Nigerian descent, Nwaneri’s international future remains a subject of keen interest, as he holds the potential to be a valuable addition to the Super Eagles’ squad.
