Arsenal Announces Departure of 22 Players

Arsenal has confirmed that 22 players will depart the club upon the expiration of their contracts this summer.

In a statement released on its website on Monday, the Premier League club detailed the list of departing players, which includes three members of the women’s team.

Among the notable names leaving are Vivianne Miedema, the Women’s Super League (WSL) all-time top scorer, who is rumored to be joining Manchester City as a free agent; Mohamed Elneny, who has been with Arsenal since 2016 and made 161 appearances; and wing-back Cedric Soares.

Additionally, Arsenal stated that contract negotiations are ongoing with Amario Cozier-Duberry, Karl Hein, and Reuell Walters, with further updates expected in the coming days.

The statement read: “We are saying goodbye to the following men’s players and scholars, and have also included the three women’s players we have previously announced will also be departing.”

The statement further mentioned that “the following players’ contracts also expire on June 30. Discussions are ongoing and once matters are finalized between all parties, we will communicate in due course.”
