Anambra Police Arrest Suspect in Alleged Attempted Kidnapping Case

The Anambra State Police Command has announced the arrest of Chukwuma Obi, a 32-year-old resident of Umuagu Village, Igboukwu, in connection with an alleged attempted kidnapping and extortion plot. Obi’s arrest was made possible by operatives from the Anti-Cultism Squad in Enugu-Ukwu, who acted on a complaint from a victim who received a threatening message demanding a ransom of N1.2 million. The message claimed to be from a member of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), threatening abduction unless the ransom was paid into a specified bank account .
