The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended a suspected notorious armed robber and kidnapper, Ebuka Ndubuisi, during an operation by the Special Anti-Cultism Squad in Enugwu-Ukwu.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed that Ndubuisi, 29, was arrested in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, following intelligence gathered from another suspect in custody.
Mr. Ikenga revealed that Ndubuisi led a gang implicated in several high-profile crimes, including armed robbery and the kidnapping of a victim from whom ₦15 million was extorted. The gang also seized the victim’s vehicle during the crime.
This arrest aligns with directives issued by the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Mr. Nnaghe Itam, who had ordered immediate action to track down and apprehend Ndubuisi.
The operation marks a significant success in the fight against crime in the state, reinforcing the police’s commitment to ensuring safety and justice. Further investigations are ongoing to dismantle the suspect’s criminal network.
