AMMBAN urges CBN, banks to address cash scarcity, fraud in Nigeria

The leadership of the Taraba State chapter of the Association of Mobile Money and Bank Agents in Nigeria, AMMBAN, has called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and commercial banks to as a matter of urgency address the challenges of cash scarcity and fraud plaguing the nation.

The association made the call in a New Year message delivered in Jalingo by its state chairman, Bulus Audu Daniel.

Daniel, in the message, emphasized the important role the association plays in bridging financial gaps, especially in rural areas.

He stressed the need for a collective effort to meet the financial needs of the populace and counter the issue of a high ratio of unbanked population.

The association also expressed sadness over the financial crises its members faced in 2023 which they said was necessitated as a result of the implementation of the cashless policy and subsequent cash scarcity that had a profound impact on the economy.

Calling for collaborations and teamwork among stakeholders, Daniel urged members to adhere to ethical standards, professionalism, and safety protocols in their operations.
