The Nigeria Oscars Selection Committee (NOSC) has recently appointed five new members to join its team in preparation for the 97th edition of the Oscars awards, scheduled for March 2nd, 2025. The announcement was made by the committee’s leader, Stephanie Linus.
The new members of the NOSC include Ali Nuhu, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation; Blessing Egbe, a film producer; Victor Akande, a renowned journalist and film critic; Kene Okwuosa, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Filmhouse Cinemas; and Ijeoma Agu, an actress.
These individuals bring diverse expertise and experiences to the committee and will work alongside returning members such as Stephanie Linus, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Victor Okhai, and others.
According to the committee’s statement, the addition of these new members from various creative backgrounds is expected to enhance the selection process for choosing the best film from Nigeria to represent the country at the Oscars.
