Luanda, Angola — Nigeria’s D’Tigers aim to secure a quarter-final spot at the ongoing 2025 Men’s AfroBasket as they face Cameroon today, Sunday, August 17, 2025.
Both teams are unbeaten in the tournament, with Nigeria topping the group on goal difference. The winner of this clash will claim an automatic quarter-final berth, while the loser will need to compete in a playoff to advance.
Nigeria started the competition with a solid 77-59 win over Madagascar, followed by a stunning 87-66 victory against defending champions Tunisia. Cameroon, led by NBA talents Yves Missi, Ulrich Chomche, and Christian Koloko, defeated Tunisia 86-65 in their opener but had a closer 80-77 win against Madagascar in their second game.
The D’Tigers, who are hunting their first AfroBasket title since 2015, face a formidable challenge from Cameroon’s squad. A strong performance today is critical as Nigeria looks to maintain its dominant run and advance directly to the tournament’s last eight.
