The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the dates for the qualifying matches for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The preliminary round will take place from March 18 to 26, 2024. The first and second round matches will be played from September 2 to 10, 2024. All qualified teams will then compete in the group stages of the AFCON, which will be held in 2026.
This announcement gives teams plenty of time to prepare for the qualifiers and ensure they are ready to compete at the highest level.
According to the released schedule, the third and fourth round matches of the qualifiers will take place from September 7 to 15, 2024. The final rounds of the qualifiers are scheduled for November 11 to 19, 2024.
It is worth noting that Guinea was initially slated to host the 2025 AFCON but lost its hosting rights. The North African country of Morocco will now host the tournament instead. This is a great opportunity for Moroccan football fans to see their national team compete against the best teams on the continent.
