CAF has unveiled the elite squad of eleven standout players emerging from the group stage of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Notably dominated by talents hailing from Senegal and Morocco, the roster glaringly lacks representation from Nigerian footballers.
Jesus Owono of Equatorial Guinea earns his spot as the formidable goalkeeper, accompanied by his teammate Emilio Nsue, the prolific striker with an impressive five-goal tally. Morocco boasts a strong presence with four exceptional players: midfielders Sofyan Amrabat and Azzedine Ounahi, along with defenders Achraf Hakimi and Nayef Aguerd.
The defending champions, Senegal, contribute three stalwarts to the distinguished lineup: center-back Kalidou Koulibaly, winger Ismaila Sarr, and midfielder Lamine Camara. Completing the ensemble are Angolan attacker Gelson Dala and the Democratic Republic of Congo’s left-back, Arthur Masuaku.
