Nigerian footballer Kelechi Iheanacho’s participation in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations is in doubt due to a muscle injury he sustained during a game with Leicester City.
The injury was sustained during a match with Ipswich Town on Boxing Day, and Iheanacho was not included in the match day squad for Leicester’s following game against Cardiff City.
The manager of Leicester City, Enzo Maresca, has revealed that Iheanacho’s injury is still being assessed, and it is not yet clear whether he will be able to play in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Kelechi Iheanacho’s injury may prevent him from traveling to the Africa Cup of Nations, according to his team’s manager.
The Italian manager said that the former Manchester City player is still waiting to see the extent of his muscle injury, and if it is serious, he will not be able to travel to Cote d’Ivoire for the tournament.
However, if the injury is minor, Iheanacho may still be able to go to the tournament. The manager said that Iheanacho’s participation will depend on how severe the injury is, and whether it will prevent him from playing in the tournament.
