Ido-Osun, Osun State — Governor Ademola Adeleke has deployed state officials to Aduragbemi community in Ido-Osun to investigate complaints over an allegedly substandard road construction project.
The move follows a protest by community residents on Thursday, who accused the contractor of executing a poorly constructed road and demanded immediate government intervention.
In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the team—comprising representatives from the Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Works, and the Osun Rural Access and Mobility Project (O-RAMP)—was sent to carry out an on-the-spot inspection of the project.
According to the statement, the officials engaged with residents, delivered Governor Adeleke’s message, and assured the community of a prompt review and necessary corrective measures to meet established construction standards.
“The team reiterated the governor’s commitment to ensuring quality infrastructure, and confirmed that the contractor and project managers would be summoned for further assessment and accountability,” Rasheed noted.
He added that the officials are expected to submit their findings by Monday, after which the governor will decide on further corrective actions. In addition to addressing the road issue, the government also pledged to evaluate other developmental needs of the Aduragbemi community.
