Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has initiated the construction of a flyover in the Lagere area of Ile-Ife, with a total cost of N14.9 billion. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has expressed his hope that the Governor will ensure the completion of the project for the economic well-being of the residents of the ancient town.
Governor Adeleke announced that the project, awarded to Sammya Construction Company, is expected to be finished within 12 months. In addition to the flyover, the construction of 55.86 kilometers of roads in the state, valued at N30.67 billion, will also commence and be completed within the same timeframe. During the unveiling ceremony, Governor Adeleke emphasized the importance of strong collaboration between contractors and local communities for the successful execution of the projects.
The Ooni of Ife urged the Governor to not only monitor progress but also prioritize the timely completion of the flyover project in Ile-Ife, expressing his gratitude for the initiative to invest in infrastructure in his ancestral home. He urged the Governor to follow through on his commitment and ensure the successful completion of the flyover bridge for the benefit of the community.
The Governor reassured that the project was being executed according to due process and procurement laws and highlighted the significance of community relations in the successful completion of the projects.
