Adeleke Distributes Relief Materials to Disaster Victims in Osun

Osogbo, Nigeria  —   Governor Ademola Adeleke has donated relief materials worth several millions of naira to victims of disasters across the three senatorial districts of Osun State.

The distribution ceremony, held in Osogbo, was facilitated by the Special Adviser on Emergency, Mr. Emiola Fakeye, who represented the governor. The items included food supplies such as rice, garri, and maize, as well as roofing sheets and other building materials aimed at aiding recovery efforts.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting disaster victims. He stated, “Governor Ademola Adeleke is resolutely committed to ensuring that none of the victims of one form of disaster or the other is left unassisted by the Imole Osun-led administration in the state’s three senatorial districts.”

Addressing the beneficiaries, Fakeye highlighted the proactive measures of the administration in emergency management. “Today’s distribution is yet another commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind in the wake of unforeseen events. This includes both edible and non-edible items, all estimated at several millions of naira,” he said.

Fakeye also reassured beneficiaries that the distribution process had been carefully planned to avoid overcrowding or a potential stampede. He explained that officials from the Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA) had already documented the profiles of all affected victims to ensure fair and orderly distribution.

The governor extended prayers for the victims, expressing hope that such disasters would not reoccur. He said, “While I enjoin you to take it as an act of God, I also pray that none of you experiences any form of disaster henceforth in this state.”

The distribution effort is part of the administration’s broader initiative to provide relief and support for vulnerable populations in Osun State, showcasing its dedication to responsive governance and community welfare.
