Adeleke Denies Plans to Join ADC, Affirms Commitment to PDP

Osun State, Nigeria— Governor Ademola Adeleke has rebuffed rumors claiming he intends to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or collaborate with influential figures within the party ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

In a statement released on Friday by his media aide, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke called the reports baseless and reiterated his full dedication to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The statement clarified that no moves toward joining or aligning with the ADC exist, emphasizing that the PDP Osun chapter has already endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election, negating any alliance with the ADC.

“Governor Adeleke remains in the PDP, will contest under its platform, and does not require any alliance with the ADC to secure a decisive victory in 2026,” the spokesperson affirmed.

Highlighting the governor’s positive reception, the statement cited broad public support rooted in his impressive governance since taking office, with Osun people committed to re-electing him to continue the delivery of good governance.

The governor also urged PDP members in Osun to continue strengthening party structures at all levels to secure a successful outcome in the next election cycle.
