Adamawa Republish Reproductive Health, Pandemic Project C’ttee

Adamawa State Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta has republished a 10-member project coordination council to pitch into the deduction of maternal deaths from difficulties of unplanned pregnancies and sexual-based gender brutality.

Farauta instructed the committee yesterday to scale up awareness campaigns for screening of cancer among women and girls to ensure zero tolerance for cervical cancer in the state.

She said the committee is to strengthen early referral of reproductive health cases from primary health care to secondary facilities for proper antenatal care, and reiterated government support for the FKW expansion bank project in improving the quality of life of women and girls.

Mr Emmanuel Ajah, the country director, of MSI Nigeria, said the RHPR project, would develop the availability, access, acceptability, and quality of incorporated reproductive health services.

Ajah said MSI Nigeria supported 55 primary healthcare centers, adding that 60 health facilities would be scaled up in the state.

He said, “We have trained over 100 healthcare workers, served 260,749 clients, and prevented 797 menstrual deaths.”

The committee members comprise Mr. Filex Tangwami, commissioner for health, PHCDA, Ministry of Women Affairs, traditional rulers, Christian Association Nigeria, CAN, and Muslims Association, and Ministry of Justice among others.
