Accident: Two bodies recovered from Eti-Oni river by Osun FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Osun division Command has made public that two bodies have been recovered by tactical divers from a river in Eti-Oni, Osun State

The FRSC division Commander, Henry Benamaisia made this public in a statement signed by Agnes Ogungbemi, Sector Public Education Officer in Osun State

Benamaisia said that the drown persons was discovered as a result of a fatal accident which occured on June 28, 2023 at Ifetedo axis where a vehicle drowned into the Eti-Oni river along the Ife-Ondo road.

The victim’s vehicle involved was said to be a grey coloured Toyota Venza and the two bodies recovered were the occupants.

The FRSC revealed the cause of the accident as excessive speeding and loss of control.

“Efforts had been on since then and the rescue operation was concluded yesterday 30th June 2023.

“The local divers were contacted and they eventually located the final resting place of the vehicle.

“A Hiab tow truck was used to bring the vehicle out of the river, after which two male casualties were discovered as the occupants of the crashed vehicle.”
