AC Milan has successfully signed Spanish forward Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid on a four-year contract, with an option for a 12-month extension.
The Serie A club activated Morata’s release clause, which is reportedly around £11 million, to finalize the transfer.
Morata, 31, recently led Spain to victory in the Euro 2024 as team captain.
He played in every match of Spain’s successful campaign, scoring his sole goal in a 3-0 victory over Croatia, which marked the beginning of their tournament journey in Germany.
Returning to Italy, Morata brings with him experience from two previous stints with Juventus, Milan’s rival.
While at Juventus, Morata achieved significant success, winning two league titles and three Italian Cups.
Morata began his professional career at Real Madrid and has also had tenures at Chelsea.
His career highlights include two Champions League titles with Real Madrid and two Serie A titles with Juventus. During his time at Chelsea, Morata also lifted the FA Cup.
