Milan, Italy — AC Milan’s sporting director, Igil Tare, has acknowledged that Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze may be sold before the close of the summer transfer window.
Since joining the Rossoneri from Villarreal two years ago, Chukwueze has struggled to secure a consistent starting position.
The 26-year-old was close to a move to Premier League side Fulham in January and has recently been linked again with Fulham, as well as a potential return to Spain with Real Betis.
Tare stated that the club is currently evaluating the best course of action for the player.
“Chukwueze and Musah might leave this summer; it is a possibility. We are weighing the best option for us,” Tare told Soy Calcio.
Chukwueze played 26 minutes in Milan’s 2-1 loss to Cremonese on Saturday night.
To date, he has scored four goals in 51 league matches for Milan.
A transfer away from San Siro could provide the right opportunity for Chukwueze to progress at this point in his career.
