Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) blames vandals for electricity outage in parts of the Federal Capital Territory

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has blamed cable vandals for the power outage in some parts of the Federal Capital Territory.

AEDC disclosed this in a notice released on Friday.

Garki areas were most affected by the outage, which lasted for more than 24 hours.

Residents living around Niger Delta Power Holding Company office, Security Exchange Commission, Fraser Suite, Grand Square, and other areas are currently experiencing a power outage.

“The Management of AEDC wishes to update its esteemed customers in Garki 1 to 7 and environs that upon the restoration of 33Kv feeder H1 from Apo transmission station at 11:29 am today, a suspected cable fault was detected, which has caused the current outage to our valued customers in Areas 1 to 7,” AEDC stated.

Earlier, the company announced that there would be a nine-hour blackout in some districts on Saturday, October 28, due to a planned maintenance exercise by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on its 132/33 kV Kukwaba station.
