Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has affirmed his administration’s determination to assist young farmers and investors by providing support for land clearing, preparation, and agricultural mechanization. The primary goals are to ensure food security and reduce unemployment in the state.

During the 37th Lisabi Day celebration in Abeokuta, the Governor, represented by his deputy Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, highlighted the success of the Anchor Borrowers Scheme in nurturing over 40,000 agripreneurs in the state. The theme of the celebration, ‘Encouraging Youth Entrepreneurship in Agric Business: Panacea for Solving Youth Unemployment in Egbaland,’ reflects the government’s focus on empowering youth for agricultural development.

Governor Abiodun emphasized Ogun State’s role as a significant cassava producer, with expertise in cassava cultivation, poultry farming, fish production, and animal husbandry. The Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, praised the achievements of the Lisabi festival and expressed gratitude to Egba community members for their financial contributions. He also announced initiatives to provide empowerment opportunities for Egba indigenes through Lisabi palliatives and educational support for students.
