Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has announced the donation of 25 patrol vehicles to the state police command. He also revealed that the state has purchased surveillance drones to monitor criminal activities across the region.
During a ceremony at the Governor’s Office in Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun handed over the patrol vehicles to the Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun. The governor expressed gratitude for the police’s efforts in law enforcement and effective policing, stating that the donation is a token of appreciation.
To enhance peace and security in the state, Governor Abiodun pledged to continue supporting the Security Trust Fund by acquiring necessary equipment such as drones. He also mentioned plans to improve the welfare and conditions of security personnel to boost their morale and effectiveness in maintaining safety and security.
The Inspector General of Police, in response, emphasized his vision of establishing a competent and service-oriented police force that is responsive to the evolving nature of crimes in society.
