Tinubu Appoints Zubaidu Umar as NEMA DG

President Bola Tinubu has greenlit the selection of Zubaida Umar as the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

This decision marks a historic moment as Mrs. Umar becomes the first woman entrusted with the helm of NEMA, reinforcing the President’s unwavering dedication to fostering gender inclusivity within key governmental positions.

Furthermore, the appointment of retired Brigadier-General Lawal Ja’afar Isa as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education has been given the presidential seal of approval.

General Ja’afar Isa brings a wealth of leadership experience, having notably served as the Military Administrator of Kaduna State from 1993 to 1996.

Additionally, Alhaji Tijani Hashim Abbas has been appointed as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Chieftaincy Matters, adding another dynamic figure to the presidential advisory team.

Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, conveyed the President’s optimistic outlook, expecting the newly appointed officials to leverage their extensive expertise towards enhancing the welfare of Nigerians.
