Three individuals have tragically lost their lives in a road accident on the Ondo-Ore highway in Ondo State. The incident involved a brewery truck, fully loaded with beer, which toppled onto a Volkswagen Golf vehicle (registration number BUR 852 TS) carrying passengers to Ondo, at Liyetu area of the town.
According to reports, the three passengers in the Volkswagen Golf vehicle lost their lives immediately. The state police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the fatalities.
Odunlami stated, “Police officers have been dispatched to the scene, and the deceased have been taken to the General Hospital Morgue in Ondo. The injured passenger has been transported to the Trauma Centre in Ondo town. The Police Motor Traffic Division of Enu-owa is working to clear the traffic congestion on the road.”
She advised the public to consider using alternative routes to prevent getting stuck in traffic jams and urged those with relatives traveling on that route to check on their well-being.
