In a compelling address at a youth leadership symposium on Monday, former President Olusegun Obasanjo implored the current Nigerian administration led by Tinubu to consider seeking advice from Zimbabwe to tackle the unprecedented inflation crisis gripping the nation.
Drawing parallels with Zimbabwe’s recent triumph over a similar economic challenge, the former military leader emphasized the potential benefits of learning from the southern African nation’s experience.
Obasanjo urged Nigerians to exhibit resilience in the face of adversity, asserting that in challenging times, the resolute must persevere. Additionally, he recommended turning to divine intervention, emphasizing that the prevailing economic hardships are not permanent.
“Crisis should not lead to despair; instead, confront it and turn to God, as divine intervention can yield miraculous results,” Obasanjo expressed, highlighting Zimbabwe’s recent history as a potential source of insights. He urged Nigerians to pose questions and seek guidance from Zimbabwe, even if the approach may differ, in their collective pursuit of solutions.
