In the aftermath of the Super Eagles’ triumphant 4-2 victory over their South African counterparts on Wednesday, an exuberant celebration turned tragic in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State. Regrettably, the jubilation claimed the life of Lukman, a man in his late twenties.

Details gathered by Newsmen indicate that the unfortunate incident occurred along the bustling Murtala Mohamed way in Lokoja. Lukman, fervently celebrating the Super Eagles’ win with his motorcycle, met with a fatal accident when struck by a vehicle.

The victim and his friend, residents behind Igbo hall near cemetery road in a suburb of Lokoja metropolis, had enthusiastically joined others in reveling the Super Eagles’ victory. However, their decision to drive against traffic proved fatal for Lukman, who was fatally knocked down, while his friend sustained serious injuries, as revealed by a reliable source.

Late Lukman has now been laid to rest in the Kabawa area of the state capital, following Islamic rites.
