Abuja High Court grants Emefiele N300m bail

An Abuja High Court at Maitama has on Wednesday granted bail to the detained former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, in the sum of N300million and two sureties.

Ruling on the application of his bail request, Justice Hamza Muazu ordered, Emefiele to provide two sureties, who must be resident within the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and have landed property within the Maitama District.

The court also ordered Emefiele to remain within the Abuja Municipal Area Council, and to summit all his travel documents with the registrar of the court.

The former CBN governor to be kept in Kuje Correctional Centre till he meets the bail conditions, justice Muaza held.

The Abuja High court fixed November 28, to commence full-blown hearing on the six-count charge the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, preferred against the Defendant.
