Real Sociedad striker Umar Sadiq has urged Nigerians to keep supporting the team ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho on Thursday in Uyo.
Sadiq also dismissed notions of competition with other strikers in the Super Eagles’ attacking lineup.
According to him, players prioritise the team’s success over individual game.
“Whenever we come here, we are always motivated; we want to play for the country,” Sadiq, a former AS Roma attacker, Sadiq told NFF TV.
“We are always happy to represent the country whether you start, had some minutes, or are on the bench; we are always ready to represent.”
He added, “They (Nigerians) should keep supporting us, and I hope in the two games, we will come out with good results.”
