Jigawa State Govt presents letters of engagement to 1,000 teachers

Jigawa state government has called on the newly-employed 1,000 J-Teach beneficiaries to work hard as their permanent appointment is based on performance.

Governor Umar Namadi stated this in Dutse while presenting letters of engagement to 1,000 graduates to serve as school teachers across the state.

Governor Namadi said the recruitment of temporary teachers is part of the state government’s commitment to improving the education sector and filling the existing teacher gap in the state.

He assured the beneficiaries that the J-Teach programme will serve as a training ground for the teachers and will be absorbed into permanent and pensionable benefits based on their commitment.

According to the Governor, the recruitment of the temporary J-Teach teachers is based on the need for secondary school teachers across the state.

He said the teachers would be posted back to their various communities.

As such, Governor Namadi charged them to be fair and dedicated.
