Lagos, Nigeria–The Lagos State Police Command has assured the public that popular TikTok influencer Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, is safe following reports of his alleged abduction during a livestream on Wednesday night.
In an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Thursday, police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin stated that preliminary investigations indicate that Peller was at home and unharmed. “We can confirm that Habeeb, popularly known as Peller, is safe and sound at home. His vehicle, phones, and other personal belongings remain intact,” Hundeyin said.
The police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine whether it was an actual kidnapping, a staged event, or a false alarm. “There was no sign of violence, and all his properties were accounted for,” the spokesperson added.
Peller, aged 20, was reportedly taken by armed men while livestreaming on TikTok during his journey home, prompting the ongoing probe by authorities.
