Anfield, Liverpool — Liverpool are growing increasingly confident of securing a deal for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak before the transfer window closes, with reports of a new, significantly improved bid worth £130 million in the pipeline.
The 25-year-old striker has refused to train with or play for Newcastle as he pushes for a move to Anfield, citing “broken promises” from the club. Newcastle, however, remain firm in their position that Isak is not for sale, demanding a British record transfer fee reportedly around £150 million.
Isak publicly expressed his frustration in a statement, accusing Newcastle of not honoring agreements and stating that the relationship cannot continue, fueling tensions on Tyneside.
