EFCC Urges CBEX Fraud Victims to Assist Ongoing Probe

Ibadan, NigeriaThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has called on victims of the alleged cryptocurrency scam perpetrated by Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX) to report to its Ibadan and Lagos zonal offices to aid ongoing investigations.

This was disclosed on Friday in a statement by the commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

According to the statement, EFCC is currently prosecuting three suspects — Adefowora Olanipekun, Otorudo Avwerosuo, and Ehirim Chukwuebuka — over their alleged involvement in the scheme.

“The EFCC is investigating the activities of CBEX, which lured unsuspecting Nigerians into investing with promises of unrealistic returns, leading to huge financial losses,” Oyewale stated.

The anti-graft agency urged all affected investors who made payments through individuals connected to CBEX offices in Ibadan and Idimu, Lagos, to visit its Ibadan Zonal Directorate and Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 for further assistance with the investigation.
