Abuja, Nigeria–The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled plans to establish Progressives Campus Clubs across tertiary institutions in Nigeria as part of efforts to engage and empower young Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a media briefing held at the APC Youths Resource Center in Abuja, the party’s National Youth Leader, Mr. Dayo Israel, said the initiative aims to cultivate a new generation of progressive-minded students through structured mentorship and skill development programmes.
He noted that while the clubs will provide political education and advocacy platforms, their scope will go beyond partisan engagement. “We intend to equip students—regardless of their political leanings—with digital technology skills and practical tools to thrive in today’s world,” Israel stated.
Mr. Israel explained that the clubs will serve as year-round platforms for meaningful interaction between the party and students, offering training in areas such as digital innovation and entrepreneurship. The goal, he said, is to ensure that the party’s youth engagement is not limited to election periods.
He also disclosed that the APC Youths Resource Center was established as a hub to begin early mobilization and empowerment efforts for young Nigerians, adding that a Membership Enrichment Team has been set up to digitize and document the profiles of young members.
The initiative, according to Mr. Israel, is part of a broader strategy to deepen youth participation in governance and prepare the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the next electoral cycle
