Fayemi Denies Co-Founding ADC Coalition with Amaechi, Reaffirms Commitment to APC

Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State  Former Ekiti State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi has publicly refuted claims that he co-founded the African Democratic Party (ADC) coalition alongside former Rivers State governor Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.

The controversy emerged following a Saturday X Spaces conversation during which Amaechi reportedly asserted that the ADC coalition began with himself and Fayemi at a meeting hosted by Nasiru Danu, alongside figures like Salihu Mohammed and Aminu Tambuwal.

Responding through a statement from his Head of Media, Mallam Sajoh, Fayemi dismissed the claim as unfounded, noting the absence of any credible media reports or verifiable recordings supporting Amaechi’s assertion.

The statement emphasized: “Despite efforts to verify this statement spreading on social and digital media, no credible evidence has been found. It is possible the claims were fabricated, distorted, or misquoted.”

Dr. Fayemi reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating he remains an active and committed member, with no intention of defecting. His support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election further underlines his dedication to the party.

The statement concluded by recognizing Dr. Fayemi’s broad network transcending political and social divides, underscoring his role as a unifying politician and thought leader.
