Abuja, Nigeria — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt birthday wishes to former Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo on his 71st birthday, commending his integrity, statesmanship, and service to the nation.
In a statement released on Saturday, August 2, by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu hailed Sambo as a respected elder statesman and a loyal public servant with a steadfast commitment to Nigeria’s unity and progress.
Highlighting Sambo’s public service career, President Tinubu recalled his tenure as Governor of Kaduna State from 2007 to 2010, and later as Vice President under President Goodluck Jonathan, where he served with dedication and mutual respect.
Tinubu also appreciated Sambo’s enduring contributions to peacebuilding and regional diplomacy, noting his recent leadership of the ECOWAS Observation Mission to Ghana’s 2024 Presidential Elections and earlier missions to Niger Republic in 2020 and 2021.
Acknowledging Sambo’s continued influence in Kaduna State, President Tinubu praised his support for Governor Uba Sani’s efforts to foster religious tolerance and stability in the state.
The President concluded his message with warm wishes for the former vice president, praying for many more years of good health and impactful service to Nigeria and the West African region.
