Dortmund, Germany— Jadon Sancho, currently at Manchester United, is reportedly prepared to accept a significant wage reduction to secure a transfer back to Borussia Dortmund this summer.
The 25-year-old winger, who enjoyed his best form during two previous Dortmund spells, earns around €16 million annually at Manchester United. However, he has offered to halve his salary to approximately €8 million per year to facilitate the move. This pay cut reflects his eagerness to return to the club where he previously thrived and regained confidence, especially after a challenging stint in England.
Negotiations between Dortmund and Manchester United are ongoing, with the Red Devils reportedly open to offers starting near £15-17 million, keen to offload Sancho, who is not part of their future plans. Sancho spent the 2024-2025 season on loan at Chelsea, contributing moderately but failing to secure a permanent deal.
Sancho’s record at Manchester United contrasts sharply with his Dortmund days: just 12 goals and 6 assists in 82 appearances for United, compared to 53 goals and 67 assists across 158 Dortmund matches. His willingness to compromise on wages may finally pave the way for a memorable third spell at Dortmund.
