London, United Kingdom — Nigerian Afrobeat superstar Davido has reached a major career milestone as his 2023 album, ‘Timeless,’ is officially certified Silver in the United Kingdom.
The announcement was made by Chart Data, a trusted music analytics platform, which confirmed that the album surpassed 100,000 unit sales—qualifying it for Silver status under the standards of the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
Released on March 31, 2023, ‘Timeless’ is a vibrant fusion of musical genres, blending Afrobeats, reggae, dancehall, konto, highlife, and Afropop across 17 tracks.
The album features star-studded collaborations with Asake, Skepta, Angelique Kidjo, The Cavemen, Fave, and Dexta Daps, contributing to its broad global appeal and commercial success.
Upon release, the album shattered streaming records on platforms including Spotify Nigeria, Boomplay, Audiomack, and YouTube, reinforcing its status as one of the most celebrated Nigerian projects in recent history.
The success of ‘Timeless’ also earned Davido a Grammy nomination for Best Global Album, while its lead single ‘Unavailable’ featuring Musa Keys received both a Silver Certification in the UK and a Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance. Another standout track, ‘Feel’, was also nominated in the Best Global Music Performance category.
In support of the album’s achievements, Davido embarked on the Timeless Tour, performing in key cities across North America and Europe, including Washington D.C., New York, Toronto, and London, further cementing his global influence.
