Osun State – Famous Nigerian musician, Davido, appeared to have confirmed his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s imminent defection to the All Progressive Congress, APC.
There are rumors that Adeleke is planning to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the APC ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election in the state.
News reports that the rumors began last month after Davido and governor Adeleke visited President Bola Tinubu for a private meeting at his Lagos residence.
The singer appeared to confirmed the planned defection in his newly released single title “From Umbrella To Broom” (meaning from PDP to APC)
While explaining that the significant implications of this political shift is for the benefit of the state, Davido claimed that joining APC will move the state forward.
Davido in the song said, “New broom go sweep better. Ẹtan abẹla si ìjọba wa. From umbrella to the broom. Adegbe adafa, alagbada alefa.
