Tottenham Seal £55m Deal for Mohammed Kudus from West Ham

London, EnglandTottenham Hotspur have secured a major summer signing after agreeing to a £55 million deal with West Ham United for Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

The 24-year-old is expected to undergo a medical on Thursday ahead of finalising a six-year contract with the North London club.

Football transfer expert David Ornstein confirmed the agreement on Wednesday via his official X account, revealing that Spurs and West Ham have reached full terms for the highly-rated attacking midfielder.

Tottenham initially submitted a £50 million bid, which was rejected by the Hammers. However, following continued negotiations, both sides settled on a deal worth £55 million ($74.7 million).

Sources close to the negotiations say Kudus, who is under contract with West Ham until 2028, has shown a clear preference for a move to Tottenham. Personal terms are reportedly not expected to pose any obstacle to the completion of the transfer.

Kudus’ current contract includes a buyout clause valid only during the first 10 days of July, with varying release fees: £80 million for European clubs, £85 million for Premier League sides, and £120 million for Saudi Pro League suitors.

The Ghana international joined West Ham from Ajax in 2023 for a reported €41.5 million. In his first season at the London Stadium, he delivered a strong showing, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists. However, last season saw a slight dip, as he recorded five goals and four assists in 35 Premier League appearances.

With Spurs looking to strengthen their squad under manager Ange Postecoglou, Kudus’ arrival marks a significant statement of intent ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
