Abuja, Nigeria — The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has launched an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered registration portal as part of its bold drive to revolutionize business registration processes in Nigeria.
The announcement was made by the Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer of CAC, Mr. Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, during the Commission’s 2025 stakeholders’ forum.
According to Magaji, the upgraded portal is designed to simplify the registration process, enabling users to reserve business names with ease—comparable to opening an email account. He emphasized that available names will now receive instant approval, while the AI system intelligently suggests alternative options when necessary.
“The new system is robust, intuitive, and efficient,” Magaji noted. “Registration can now be completed within 30 minutes, with certificates generated and delivered to customers’ emails in real time, leveraging the integration of NIN verification.”
Addressing potential delays, Magaji acknowledged the challenges of external validations from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), but assured stakeholders that CAC has developed an AI-based contingency solution using photo ID matching technology to minimize disruptions.
The Registrar-General also revealed that CAC is deepening collaborations with super agents such as the Nigerian Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS) and is currently reviewing over 100 partnership proposals from both local and international organizations.
In strengthening data security and transparency, Magaji disclosed that Authentication and OTP verification features will soon be introduced for all transactions. “This will ensure no amendments are made to company records without the consent of registered directors,” he affirmed.
He further announced the rollout of a CAC Mobile App by Q4 2025 to enable real-time tracking and seamless service access.
Concluding his remarks, Magaji stated that there will be an upward review of service fees effective August 1, 2025, explaining that the adjustment is necessary to sustain quality service delivery and support critical reforms within the Commission.
