Lagos, NigeriaKwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has expressed immense pride and joy following Kwara United FC’s landmark victory at the 2025 President Federation Cup final held at Mobolaji Arena, Lagos, on Saturday.

In a statement personally signed by the governor, he commended the players, coaching staff, management team, Sports Commission, and supporters for their outstanding achievement.

Governor AbdulRazaq remarked, “I am filled with overwhelming happiness as I joined the Harmony Boys of Kwara United to bring home the prestigious 2025 President Federation Cup — marking the first time a team from our state has lifted this trophy since Kwara State’s creation in 1967.”

He extended heartfelt congratulations to everyone involved, acknowledging the unwavering support from residents of Kwara, including those in the diaspora.

“This victory is a testament to the power of teamwork, discipline, determination, and resilience,” the governor added.

Highlighting the state’s recent string of successes, he noted, “Our triumph over Abakaliki FC follows another historic win as our team emerged national champions at the Senior President Debate Competition for the first time.”

Governor AbdulRazaq emphasized that these accomplishments are no coincidence, pointing out that Kwara’s pupils have dominated the President School Debate Competition for three consecutive editions under the State Universal Basic Education Board.

“These achievements reflect the results of consistent hard work and strategic investments in youth development, sports, education, and other vital sectors,” he stated.

Concluding his message, the governor congratulated all Kwarans both at home and abroad and expressed optimism about continuing to elevate the state’s reputation nationally and internationally.
