Benue crisis: It’s a national disgrace – Prophet Isa El-Buba leads protest in Abuja

BENUE STATE – The Convener of Initiative for Better and Brighter Nigeria, IBBN, Prophet Isa El-Buba on Tuesday led a protest in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, over the unending killings in Benue State.

News reports that the recent attack in Yelwata community, near Makurdi, the state capital, where over 200 persons were massacred, triggered the protest.

The prophet, in a post on his official Facebook page called for an end to the incessant attacks on unsuspecting Nigerians by bandits and suspected Fulani herdsmen.

He wrote, “Today in Abuja, we lifted our voices not just in protest, but in righteous anger. The killings in Benue State are not a distant tragedy—they are a national disgrace.

“I call on the Nigerian government: How many more lives must be lost before you act? How long will you remain silent while the blood of innocent men, women, and children cries out from the ground?

“Leadership is responsibility. Governance is protection. If you cannot protect the people, then you have failed them.

“We demand urgent action. We demand justice. We demand peace.

“The time to speak is now. The time to act is now.”
