Zaria, Nigeria — The Nigerian Army is poised to bolster its operational strength with the deployment of 6,195 newly trained regular combatants across the country.
The announcement was made ahead of the passing out parade for members of the 88 Regular Recruit Intake, who began their training on January 13 at the Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria. The recruits have successfully completed a rigorous six-month military training programme.
According to official records, a total of 6,450 candidates were enlisted in January, but 255 were unable to complete the training process.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, is expected to serve as the reviewing officer during the ceremonial passing out parade.
Highlighting the strategic significance of the development, Army authorities confirmed that the fresh recruits will be deployed to various theatres of operation nationwide. The move aims to address emerging security threats and reinforce national defense capabilities.
The new combatants are also slated to undergo specialised training tailored to equip them with the skills required for effectiveness in their respective areas of deployment.
This initiative reflects the Army’s ongoing commitment to strengthening national security and ensuring the protection of lives and property across Nigeria.
