Presidential Aide Aliyu Audu Resigns with Immediate Effect

Abuja, Nigeria:Aliyu Audu has tendered his resignation as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, effective immediately.

In a letter dated June 8, 2025, and addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through the Chief of Staff, Audu announced his departure from the role, expressing deep appreciation for the opportunity to serve in the administration.

“It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration,” Audu wrote, adding that his time in office was both “an honour and a privilege.” He also commended President Tinubu’s leadership, describing it as visionary.

Audu acknowledged Ajuri Ngelale, the former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, for nominating him to the position, to which he was officially appointed on October 9, 2023, following his nomination on August 26 of the same year.

While no specific reason was cited for his resignation, Audu conveyed his best wishes to the Tinubu administration and pledged his continued support and prayers for its success and for the nation’s progress.
