Makkah, Saudi Arabia — The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced that return flights for Nigerian pilgrims will officially begin on the 13th of Dhul-Hijjah, marking the conclusion of the 2025 Hajj exercise.
NAHCON Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, confirmed that the initial departures will involve pilgrims from Imo State flying with Air Peace, Bauchi State with Max Air, and pilgrims from Kebbi and Sokoto States boarding Flynas flights.
In his Eid al-Adha goodwill message, Professor Usman extended heartfelt congratulations to all Muslims, particularly those who successfully participated in this year’s Hajj, having observed the critical rite of standing at Arafat.
He offered prayers for the acceptance of all acts of worship and sacrifices made by pilgrims and the global Muslim community during this holy period, urging the faithful to embody the deeper lessons of the Hajj pilgrimage.
Reflecting on the spiritual essence of Hajj, the NAHCON Chairman called on Muslims to draw inspiration from the obedience and resilience of Sayyidah Hajara and Prophet Ibrahim (AS), highlighting values such as submission, sacrifice, and divine trust as pillars for fostering harmony and growth in society.
He expressed gratitude to Nigerian pilgrims for their decorum and discipline throughout the pilgrimage, acknowledging that their cooperation was instrumental in ensuring a smooth and successful operation.
Professor Usman also praised the dedication of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards for their efficient coordination, as well as the tireless service of NAHCON officials, board members, and ad-hoc staff—many of whom discharged their duties while in the sacred state of ihram.
He went on to commend the strong institutional backing received from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, describing their support as vital to the effective delivery of this year’s Hajj programme.
In wrapping up his message, Professor Usman noted satisfaction with the services rendered at the holy sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. He reiterated NAHCON’s commitment to continuously enhancing future Hajj experiences through strategic collaboration and engagement with all stakeholders.
He concluded by wishing Nigerian Muslims a blessed Eid celebration and called for a renewed spirit of national unity and commitment to spiritual development.
