Jos, Nigeria — Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has hailed children as the state’s “greatest treasure” during the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to their protection, welfare, and development.
In a statement issued today in Jos by the Governor’s office, Mutfwang joined millions of Nigerians in marking the annual celebration, emphasizing the value and potential of children as the foundation for Plateau’s future.
Addressing the theme of this year’s event, “Tapping the Untapped Natural Treasure,” the Governor described it as timely, noting that while Plateau is rich in natural and mineral resources, the true untapped treasure lies in its children.
“Our children hold the promise of a brighter tomorrow,” Mutfwang said. “To help them blossom into the treasures they are, we must provide them with quality education, healthcare, a safe environment, and the moral grounding they need to thrive.”
He highlighted the state government’s ongoing reforms in education, child-friendly policies, and inclusive governance as key steps toward nurturing young people and equipping them to shape the future.
Governor Mutfwang also urged parents, educators, community leaders, and all stakeholders to actively support the development of children’s talents while promoting values of peace, unity, innovation, and resilience.
“As a government, we are building a Plateau where every child can live, learn, and thrive,” he stated.
The Governor concluded by praying for divine protection over Plateau’s children and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to building an inclusive and promising future for all.
