Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State — In a major cultural endorsement, Orijin, the popular Nigerian alcoholic beverage, has been unveiled as the official sponsor of the 2025 Ojude Oba Festival, set to take place on June 8, 2025, in the historic city of Ijebu-Ode.
Celebrated as one of Africa’s most iconic and colourful cultural showcases, the Ojude Oba Festival annually brings together thousands of attendees in homage to the Awujale of Ijebuland. The event is renowned for its dazzling fashion, vibrant Regberegbe (age-grade) parades, and joyful pageantry that celebrate the unity and heritage of the Yoruba people.
Speaking on the partnership, Girish Sharma, Managing Director and CEO of Guinness Nigeria Plc, said:
“Orijin is not just a drink—it’s a celebration of our identity. The theme ‘My Roots, My Power’ reflects our deep connection to African culture and heritage. Through this partnership, we are proud to support a festival that so beautifully embodies the spirit of community and tradition.”
Also commenting, Olayinka Bakare, Marketing & Innovation Director at Guinness Nigeria, added:
“Our ‘Building for More’ vision drives us to create meaningful connections and champion cultural pride. Teaming up with the Ojude Oba Festival allows us to celebrate our rich past while inspiring future generations. With Orijin, we aim to highlight the values that unify us as Nigerians.”
As preparations intensify, the 2025 edition promises an unforgettable experience — one made even more vibrant with Orijin’s presence, reinforcing its role as a cultural beacon and a unifier of communities through tradition and celebration.
